Private Lessons

A veteran teacher, Steve maintains a limited private teaching practice at his home in Oakland County, Michigan, about thirty miles north of Detroit. His students are of all levels of hammered dulcimer experience, ranging from beginners to experienced players, performers, and teachers. He often has dulcimers to rent to students who are waiting for their instrument to be built or who aren’t quite ready to buy one. Students who come for private lessons should be aware that they will be exposed to cats and dogs. If you have an allergy, please be in touch to discuss it.

Private lesson rates are $50 an hour, and are tailored to your needs and goals. Lessons are for a minimum of an hour. Those traveling long distances, longer lessons of two hours or more are encouraged.
